Volunteers will play a key role in the delivery of all aspects of WICGlasgow24, from Event Operations to Sport Operations and Spectator Experience, so explore the roles listed below to see what suits you.

 

Event Operations

 

Do you love supporting behind the scenes to create a welcoming environment as part of a team operating in key areas? Showcase your skills in the Event Operations roles.

 

Event Operations team members will be operational from 23 February until 4 March 2024. Some roles may be asked to support earlier than this. Volunteers will be based at the Emirates Arena and other city centre-based venues supporting the operational areas of the event.

Event Operations Role Descriptions

 

Spectator Experience 

 

 

Passionate about your city? Give a warm Glasgow welcome to spectators, media, workforce and athletes as they move around the event in our Spectator Experience roles.

 

WICGlasgow24 will bring exciting activations to the city to celebrate the history of World Athletics. Spectator Experience volunteers will support the these and other key spectator areas around the city centre from 1 February 2024.

 

Spectator Experience volunteers based at the Emirates Arena will be operational from 1-3 March 2024.

Spectator Experience Role Description

 

Sport Operations

 

 

Are you passionate about sport and looking to help create a smooth transition for the athletes as they compete on the world stage? If you have knowledge of athletics and understand the importance of being respectful and following instructions to ensure that the competition operates smoothly, then Sport Operations roles are for you.

 

Most of our Sport Operations volunteers will be operational between 28 February-3 March 2024. Volunteers will be based at the Emirates Arena, official hotels or training locations.
