World leaders Zharnel Hughes and Keely Hodgkinson will look to maintain their strong form when they compete at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23 between 19-27 August.
The national record-holders form part of the 55-strong Great Britain and Northern Ireland team named for the event. Hughes has improved the British 100m and 200m records to 9.83 and 19.73 respectively this season and will contest both of those disciplines in Budapest. The world 100m leader is also included in the 4x100m squad. Hodgkinson improved her own national 800m record to a world-leading 1:55.77 in June and will head to Budapest on the hunt for another medal after her silver in Oregon last year.
Laura Muir and Morgan Lake have also set national records in 2023 and join them on the team, as do global medallists Dina Asher-Smith, Holly Bradshaw, Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Matthew Hudson-Smith.
