Election Oversight Panel

The role of the Election Oversight Panel (EOP) is to manage the overall candidature process, including ensuring any deadlines and obligations are met, as well as developing and providing guidance as applicable. The EOP is also responsible for ensuring that all candidates for election to World Athletics office conduct their candidacies with honesty, dignity and moderation and in compliance with the Integrity Code of Conduct, the Candidacy Rules and any other applicable rules and regulations; and the proper administration of tasks relating to the organisation, running and supervision of the elections at the Election Congress.

The following Panel members were appointed by the Council in March 2023 through to the conclusion of the Election Congress in 2027.

Biography – Margot Foster, Chair of the EOP

Margot is a highly-experienced Australian sports lawyer and administrator, having held roles on boards and committees in a number of sports bodies for over 30 years. Margot is an Olympian rower, having won a bronze medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Games in the women’s coxed four.
