RACE AGAINST THE ELITE AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN COPENHAGEN

The best runners on the planet are coming to Copenhagen – and you can race them


If you're only signing up for one running event in 2026, why not make it the biggest one of the year. In September, the official World Championships in Half Marathon, 5 km and One Mile (1.6 km) are coming to Copenhagen – and you can be part of it!


All runners are welcome to join. That means you’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to race alongside some of the world’s fastest runners and measure yourself directly against the best. Whether you want to go full throttle or just soak up the atmosphere is entirely up to you.

But if you're chasing a new PB, there’s no better stage than the World Championships in Copenhagen. Either way, you're in for a unique race experience and a memory you'll never forget. It’s the world’s best runners – and you.


The Half Marathon is sold out, but you can still sign up for the 5 km and the One mile, which will take place on 19 September.

One Mile

For centuries, runners have battled to cover the 1.6 kilometers as fast as possible. Now it's your turn to write your name into the history books.

You’ll race through a course packed with spectators, music, and electric energy from the very first step to the last.

Never has a mile felt so long — and never has time flown by so fast. So come and get swept up in the wild World Championship atmosphere, as thousands of cheering fans push you toward the finish line — and your own World Championship medal.

5 kilometer

There’s a reason why the 5K is one of the world’s most popular race distances. It’s short enough to feel manageable — but just long enough to push your limits, both physically and mentally.

The key to a great time lies in finding that perfect balance between speed and endurance. This makes it an unforgettable experience — for both runners and spectators. At the World Championships in Copenhagen, you’ll get a flat, fast, and scenic course bursting with energy.

The race kicks off on the wide Østerbrogade, sweeps across Trianglen, loops around Østre Anlæg, and returns along the city lakes — before delivering a roaring finish line celebration in Fælledparken.

From start to finish, you’ll run through a tunnel of cheering fans, live music, and pure race-day vibes. You’ll feel like the star of the show.

The world’s fastest runners will be flying across the pavement without stopping for a single sip. You’re welcome to try and catch them — but no matter how hard you hit the gas, one thing’s for sure: this will be a race to remember.
