1. Can I inquire about volunteering opportunities by phone?
We only accept inquiries via email at volunteers@kujawypomorze26.pl
Please include "Volunteer Recruitment for the World Athletics Indoor Championships" as the email subject.
2. Can I apply by post?
Applications are accepted only through the official volunteer website.
3. Are volunteers selected on a first-come, first-served basis?
Volunteers are not selected based on the order of application. If there are many applicants, selection decisions will be made based on the requested roles, locations, and availability.
4. What sports gear will I receive, and do I need to return it after the Championships?
Volunteers will receive two T-shirts, a sweatshirt, a rain jacket, shorts, long trousers, two pairs of socks, a cap, shoes, and a bag. This gear is for you and keep it as a souvenir.
5. What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is October 20 at 12:00 PM.
6. How and when will I be informed if my application is successful?
Selected candidates will be notified via email to their registered address between November and December 2025.
7. I can no longer volunteer but have already received the sports gear. What should I do?
Please contact the Organizer to return the gear. Send your full name, date of birth, and phone number to volunteers@kujawypomorze26.pl with the subject line “Return of Sports Gear”.
8. Do I need to purchase insurance during volunteering? What does the volunteer insurance cover?
Volunteer insurance will be arranged by the Local Organizing Committee of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26. The coverage is based on the contract terms and mainly includes injuries during volunteering activities. Insurance does not apply in cases of non-compliance with instructions or behavior deemed inappropriate by the LOC.
9. Will meals be provided?
Meals will be provided for volunteers whose activities last 6 hours or longer.
10. What happens if I cannot attend on-site training sessions?
We strongly recommend attending on-site training. However, for those who cannot attend for unavoidable reasons, online training will be offered. More details will be shared later.
11. What should I do if I encounter an error while filling out the application form?
If an error occurs, switch devices (e.g., from tablet to computer) or browsers and try entering your data again.
12. What should I do if I want to withdraw my application?
To withdraw your application, send your full name, date of birth, and phone number to volunteers@kujawypomorze26.pl with the subject line “Application Withdrawal”. You will receive a confirmation email once your withdrawal is processed.
13. Can I inquire about or check the details of my application after submission?
After completing the registration, you will receive an automatic email containing your submitted information, so please make sure everything is filled out correctly.
14. How can I confirm that my application is complete?
You will receive an automatic response with the application details upon completing the registration. This confirms that your application is complete. Please keep the email safe as it will not be resent.
15. Can I change my application during the application period?
Yes. Send your full name, date of birth, and phone number to volunteers@kujawypomorze26.pl with the changes you wish to make. Use the subject line “Application Changes”.
16. Can I change my application after the application period has ended?
No changes can be made after the application period ends.
17. What are the selection criteria for volunteers?
We cannot disclose specific selection criteria. We also cannot answer questions about the reasons for acceptance or rejection of individual applications.
18. Is there an upper age limit for volunteers?
No.
19. Do I need to speak a specific language to apply?
No, but depending on your assigned activities, knowledge of English, Polish, or another language may be required. Please indicate your language skills in the application.
20. Is participation in training sessions mandatory?
Yes, you must attend all training sessions.
21. Can I change the size of the gear after submitting the application?
No, changes to the size cannot be made after submitting the application. Also, please note that the size provided may not always match your preferred size.
Activities
22. When will the activities, days, and times be scheduled?
Information regarding activities, dates, and times will be provided in February/March 2025.
23. Could my volunteer activities be different from the ones I requested?
The location and activities will be determined by the LOC, and we may not be able to accommodate your specific requests.
24. Will I need to present any ID to confirm my identity?
We are considering asking you to present identification during training and other events. Please note that you may be required to submit a copy of your ID before participating in any volunteer activities.
25. What should I wear during the activities?
You must wear the sports gear provided to you for the entire duration of your volunteer duties.
26. I would like to be a volunteer team leader. How can I apply?
During recruitment, you will be asked whether you are available to serve as a team leader. Those who indicate their availability may be asked to take on the role, based on their previous leadership experience, activity location, the nature of the role, etc. Please note that we may not be able to fulfill all such requests.
27. Do you take language skills and qualifications into account when assigning roles and locations?
Yes, we may use that information as a reference point when deciding which roles and locations best match each candidate.
28. I indicated in the application form that I have a driver's license. Will I actually get a chance to drive during the event?
There is a possibility you will be assigned a driver role.
29. Can I watch the competitions during breaks or after my volunteer duties?
Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to watch the event with your volunteer accreditation. However, if you have purchased a ticket, you will be able to watch the competitions after completing your duties for the day. Please note that we will not be able to accommodate scheduling requests based on this.
