Potential storylines and notes

Can Yulimar Rojas (VEN) win her fourth world indoor triple jump title after missing the last two editions with injury?

Ahead of the championships, Rojas said: "We started with 14.95m in the first competition of the year and I think it's a prelude to what's to come. I'm ready to jump high, I'm ready to get back to where I left off, to be consistent in the 15 meters; to show that a ruptured Achilles tendon doesn't stop you, but rather propels you forward; and that the records are in my feet.

"Last year in Tokyo I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth, and now in Toruń I feel even more psychologically prepared. I feel like  the transition year is over  and now the year is beginning where I'll be able to enjoy the fruits of my effort and hard work. That's why this championship in Toruń is so important to me, because it will be  a turning point for Yulimar Rojas.”

Will we see the first 15 metre-plus jump since the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris where Thea Lafond won gold with 15.02m?

The entry-list features six of the top seven from the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo: 1. Leyanis Perez Hernandez (CUB), 2. Thea LaFond (DMA) 3. Yulimar Rojas (VEN), 4. Liadagmis Povea (CUB), 6. Saly Sarr (DEN), 7. Jasmine Moore (USA). The only athlete missing from the top seven is 5. Shanieka Ricketts (JAM)

Can Saly Sarr (SEN) become just Senegal’s second ever medallist at the World Indoor Championships? Their only medal so far also came in the women’s triple jump back in 2003 when Kene Ndoye won bronze

Ivana Spanovic (SRB), who won long jump bronze in 2014, is the only individual female medallist from the 2014 World Indoor Championships in Sopot who will be competing in Kujawy Pomorze (Natoye Goule-Toppin also won a medal for Jamaica in the 4x400m in 2014)
