Get ready for a finals-filled last session. In the men's 5000m, two world stars – Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Joshua Cheptegei – could give us an unforgettable race. In the women's 800m, Athing Mu, Keely Hodgkinson and Mary Moraa will hope to make the final interesting for three different continents.
Also on the track, Kenya’s world champion and world record-holder, Beatrice Chepkoech faces two youngsters, Jackline Chepkoech and Sembo Almayew for a second world title in the Women’s 3000m steeplechase final.
The javelin can be quite an unpredictable event. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who made history for India with his victory in Tokyo is fighting to break the 90-metre barrier and was just six centimetres away from it in 2022. Grenada’s Anderson Peters has surpassed that mark several times before and will be going for an unprecedented third consecutive world javelin title.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh, the high jump superstar from Ukraine, competed in 2022 in the shadow of war and achieved great success, including winning the European Championships and the World Indoor Championships. Now she can win the world outdoor title too.
The 4x400m relays are always a very spectacular conclusion to a major event. In the women's relay, Team USA can fight against teams such as Poland and Jamaica. The US men’s team will also be looking for a successful title defence after a win on home soil in Oregon.
