EVENING Session

 

The new queen of athletics, Sydney McLaughlin, runs against her own world 400m hurdles record but Femke Bol and Dalilah Muhammad are sure to be among those trying to challenge for the title.

 

Once again, the world's top women's sprinters like Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shericka Jackson could clash in the 200m, this time in the semifinals. We'll see what Shaunae Miller-Uibo can do against the Jamaicans, as she is preparing for the half-lap race instead of the 400m in 2023.

 

In the final of the women's hammer throw, world record-holder Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland will hope to be in the throwing circle targeting her eighth global gold medal. Romania’s best chance of a medal will also come on this evening, with European champion Bianca Ghelber.

 

In the women's 100m hurdles final, world champion and world record-holder Tobi Amusan and Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn will be set for an unforgettable duel. 

 

In the long jump, Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece could have the chance to complete his gold medal collection , as he looks to add a world title to his Olympic and European gold medals, as well as his world indoor and European indoor crowns.

 

As we head into the second half of the World Championships, Joshua Cheptegei and Jakob Ingebrigtsen could return, ready for another battle. Day six offers the 5000m heats, where they should be joined by athletes such as Jacob Krop and Selemon Barega.

 

In the men's 400m final, three world stars – Michael Norman, Kirani James and Wayde van Niekerk – could dazzle us. In the men's 800m semifinals, a huge tactical battle for qualification is on the horizon.
