The World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26 take place on 19–20 September 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
On Saturday 19 September, the one mile takes place in the morning and the 5 km in the afternoon. On Sunday 20 September, the half marathon takes place in the morning.

Mass-race participants are assigned start groups based on their expected finish time. Participants will receive detailed information by email closer to race day.
Yes. All three distances have time limits, primarily because road closures are permitted for a limited period. Your official time is your net time, meaning it starts when you cross the start line.
One mile: 1 hour
5 km: 1.5 hours
Half marathon: 3 hours

There is no age limit for the one mile, 5 km or half marathon.
Participants under 18 may take part with permission from a parent or guardian. No additional form or upload is required.
Yes. The mass races are open to runners of all ages and abilities.
Pace groups will be available for the 5 km and half marathon.
There are no pacers for the one mile.
Running with headphones is not prohibited, but we strongly recommend against it. You must be able to hear race officials and other important instructions on the course.

A DKK 20 registration fee is added to each registration.
Yes. Gift entries are available for the 5 km and one mile. The half marathon is sold out.
You will be asked to provide personal details including your name, address, date of birth and email.
You will also be asked to indicate your expected finish time or whether you plan to walk, and to select your participant T-shirt size.
Selected information can be edited later in your participant profile.
We use your expected finish time to place runners in suitable start groups and create the best possible flow on the course.
Your time only starts when you cross the start line.
The available categories are:
Under 17 minutes / 17:00–19:59 / 20:00–24:59 / 25:00–29:59 / 30:00–39:59 / 40:00–49:59 / Over 50 minutes / Walk.
We ask for your expected pace so we can place faster runners towards the front and walkers towards the back.
The available categories are:
I run really fast / I run fast pace / I run average pace / I run slow pace / I will walk one mile.
Yes. Participants are placed in start groups based on their expected finish time. This helps create a smoother race experience at the right pace.
You can update your expected finish time and other registration details through your participant profile. This may include your contact details, address and other personal information linked to your registration.
To make changes, open your confirmation email and click “Access your entry”. From your participant profile, select the details you would like to update and save your changes.

The official resale and waiting pool platform is live for the half marathon.
If you are unable to participate, you can list your bib for resale through the official resale platform. To do so, access your participant profile via the link in your confirmation email.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to defer your entry to another year, as WRRC Copenhagen 26 is a one-time event.
If you are unable to participate, you can list your bib for resale through the official resale platform by accessing your participant profile from your confirmation email.
Race-entry purchases are non-refundable and there is no right of withdrawal.
You may use the official resale platform to try to sell your bib. The organiser cannot guarantee that your entry will be sold, as this depends on supply and demand.
Yes. Contact customer service after registration if you want your name anonymised to initials on the official start and result lists.
Yes. Select “neutral nationality” in your registration profile. Your nationality will then not appear on start lists, result lists or your race bib.

The Expo takes place at Forum Copenhagen.

This is where you collect your bib number, participant T-shirt and race bag. The Expo also features running gear, activities, merchandise, food and drink.
Yes. Race-day collection is available in Runners Area, which opens at 07:30 on Saturday.
However, we strongly recommend collecting your bib at the Expo beforehand if possible. This gives you a more relaxed start to your championship day and helps you avoid queues.
We cannot guarantee that you will be able to collect your bib before your start time if there are long queues on race day.
Your entry includes race participation, official timing, race bag, finisher medal, digital diploma, race photography, finisher video and more. An official ASICS participant T-shirt is included for eligible registrations.
Yes. Every participant who finishes the one mile, 5 km or half marathon receives an official WRRC Copenhagen 26 finisher medal.

Please note: For some late half marathon registrations, the official race T-shirt will not be available.

During your race
Refreshments, entertainment and running with children.
The 5 km and half marathon will have refreshment stations on the course and in the finish area.
The one mile will have refreshments after the finish line.
Yes. Entertainment, DJs and Power Zones will be positioned around the courses. More detailed information will be available on the event website.
Yes. Baby joggers and strollers are permitted on all three distances.
Participants using one must be highly considerate of other runners and follow all instructions from race officials.
For the 5 km and one mile, runners with baby joggers should start towards the back of the relevant group.
The organisers do not recommend a baby jogger on the half marathon because of the distance and possible warm conditions.
If your child is to receive a race bib, finisher medal and participant T-shirt, a separate registration is required and the full entry fee must be paid.
If your child does not require these items, they may accompany you in a stroller or baby jogger free of charge.
Participation
Information for blind, visually impaired and disabled participants and their guides.
Yes. Blind, visually impaired and disabled participants are very welcome to take part and may run with a guide.
If the guide wants an official time, participant T-shirt, medal and other participant items, they must register as a participant.
If the guide does not require these items, please contact customer service.
No. Handcycles are unfortunately not permitted in the one mile, 5 km or half marathon.
SuperHalfs
SuperPassport information and registering your Copenhagen result.
Yes. In 2026, you can complete your Copenhagen SuperHalfs race or tick Copenhagen off as part of your SuperHalfs journey.
Select “Yes” for SuperHalfs during registration and enter your SuperPassport number.
Log in to your participant profile, select “Edit information”, choose “Yes” for SuperHalfs, enter your SuperPassport number and save your changes.
Log in to superhalfs.com. Your SuperPassport number is shown on your profile.
Your Copenhagen result will automatically be added to your SuperPassport after the race and should appear on your profile within a few days.
Yes. You can add your Copenhagen result afterwards using the “Claim a result” function on superhalfs.com.
