Poland has named a 32-strong squad for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26, with the host nation fielding a team packed with medal contenders and established international stars.

Leading the charge will be Jakub Szymański, who arrives in Toruń in formidable form. The European indoor champion has been undefeated in the 60m hurdles so far in 2026 and shares the world lead of 7.37, which makes him the second-fastest European in history.

Poland also boasts a strong presence in the women’s 60m hurdles thanks to Pia Skrzyszowska. The 2022 European champion claimed bronze at the 2024 World Indoor Championships and heads into the competition as the second-fastest woman in the world this year.

World silver medallist Maria Żodzik recently equalled her indoor personal best of 1.98m and will be aiming to make another global podium in front of her home crowd.

World and Olympic medallist Natalia Bukowiecka will contest the 400m, where she’ll be among the favourites, before turning her attention to the 4x400m.

Middle-distance hopes will rest in part on Maciej Wyderka, who recently broke the Polish short track 800m record. His 1:44.07 clocking moved him into the top 10 on the world short track all-time list.

Sprint star Ewa Swoboda will also be among the athletes to watch. The Polish record-holder finished second in the 60m at the 2024 World Indoor Championships and previously claimed the European indoor title in 2019.
