<p>The Local Organising Committee of World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 is pleased to announce that it has been become as a public interest organisation as of 1 April 2024.</p>
<p>Less than a year and a half to go until the World Athletics Championships to be held in Tokyo in September 2025. We will continue to make steady progress in our efforts to deliver the success of the World AthleticsChampionships Tokyo 25.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">More than 2000 athletes from some 200 countries will come to Tokyo to take part in one of the world's biggest sporting events.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">The first event was held in Helsinki, Finland.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Tokyo will host the event for the second time and for the first time since 1991.&nbsp;</p>
