MEDIA ACCREDITATION

 

The media accreditation system for the World Athletics Championships Tokyo25 is now open.

All requests for media accreditation must be made online and an access code is required to access the registration website.

The deadline to apply for media accreditation is 16 May 2025.

 

 

HOW TO GET AN ACCESS CODE

 

• Japanese-based Press and Photographers:
  Accreditation access codes will be distributed by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations.

 

• International Press and Photographers:
  Accreditation access codes will be distributed by the World Athletics member federation for each country.  Requests for access codes should be made to the national federation of the country in which the headquarters of the media organization is located.

 

• International Agencies:
  Accreditation access codes will be provided by World Athletics.

 

• Non-Rightsholders:
  Non-rightsholders should request accreditation through the World Athletics Series Broadcast Accreditation System.  Non-rightsholders will need to set up an account if it is their first-time requesting accreditation and then will use the same logon details for subsequent access to the system. 

 

• Content Creator:
  Content creators are defined as independent individuals whose primary work is distributed through third-party platforms such as YouTube, Podcasts, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Blogs, X (formerly Twitter), and others.
  
  Content creators must apply through the World Athletics Content Creators Accreditation System.
  
  Note: Accreditation is not guaranteed, and World Athletics reserves the right to impose limits on content creator accreditation.

Once you have your accreditation access code, you can begin the accreditation process by clicking here. First-time users will need to set up an account.

 

Upon registration, you will be able to:

 

• Apply for accreditation
• Request visa invitation letters
• Request media accommodation 
• Upload travel details and documents
