Eliud Kipchoge, Brigid Kosgei and Beatrice Chepkoech are among the world record-holders named on Kenya’s team for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Kipchoge and Kosgei will be joined by Lawrence Cherono, Ruth Chepngetich, Amos Kipruto and Peres Jepchirchir in the marathon, while Chepkoech will race the 3000m steeplechase.

Five years after her win in Rio, Faith Kipyegon will defend her 1500m title, while two-time world 5000m champion Hellen Obiri, who claimed silver in Rio, has been named for both the 5000m and 10,000m.

Three-time world half marathon champion Geoffrey Kamworor is selected for the 10,000m, six years after his world silver in Beijing, while 2015 world champion Julius Yego will contest the javelin.
