Potential storylines and notes

  • Can Devynne Charlton (BAH) become the first three-time winner of the women’s 60m hurdles title? "This is the best physical and mental shape I’ve been in since Glasgow (2024). With so many talented athletes involved, I can see it being very close. But if I have my way, then it won’t be!" she said at the press conference
  • Just 0.01 separates the top four on the 2026 world list: Devynne Charlton (BAH) 7.77, Pia Skrzyszowska (POL) 7.78, Ditaji Kambundji (SUI) 7.78, Nadine Visser (NED) 7.78
  • Will there be a European winner for just the third time this century? Derval O’Rourke (IRL) won the title in 2006 and Cyrena Samba-Mayela (FRA) won in 2022
  • Will we see the fastest ever 60m hurdles recorded on Polish soil? Nadine Visser (NED) clocked 7.77 on this track to win the European indoor title in 2021
  • Marlene Meier (GER) is the daughter of Heike Henkel who won the high jump title at the 1991 World Indoor Championships
