  • After bronze in 2024 and silver in 2025, Zaynab Dosso (ITA) will be aiming to complete her set of medals and become the first Italian winner of this title
  • At 16y/121d (her age on race day) Kelly Doualla (ITA) will become the youngest ever athlete to represent Italy in World Indoor Championships history. She is also the youngest athlete entered for these championships
  • Patrizia Van Der Weken is one of three Luxembourg athletes, all women, to compete at the World Indoor Championships. On the eve of the championships, Van Der Weken said: "I was very close to running seven seconds [at the Copernicus Cup in February with 7.01], that is something I want to achieve. I do not want to stress too much about it already but I definitely feel good and fresher than earlier in the season."
  • Dina Asher-Smith (GBR) will be competing in a major indoor championships for the first time since the 2016 World Indoor Championships
  • Can Ewa Swoboda (POL) challenge for a medal on home soil? Swoboda was one of the favourites for the European indoor title on the same track in 2021 but was a late withdrawal due to coronavirus. "I have high hopes and expectations for myself. I've never been in such shape in my life," she said on the eve of these champs
