Organisers of the Russian Winter indoor meeting on 1 February, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting, announced their first star names on Tuesday (9).
Confirmed as competing in the CSKA Arena are Russia’s own world indoor high jump champion Mariya Kuchina, France’s Diamond Race 110m hurdles winner Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, who will race in the 60m hurdles, US 100m champion Mike Rodgers, who will compete in the 60m, and Kenya’s Diamond Race 1500m winner and 2014 world leader in the event, Silas Kiplagat, who will race over his specialist distance.
Botswana's Nijel Amos, the fastest man in the world in 2014 over 800m outdoors, will also make an attempt to break the 600m world indoor best, which is 1:15.12 and has been held by Germany’s Nico Motchebon since 1999.
