Sally Pearson of Australia and Swede Susanna Kallur have been added to a high power women's 60m hurdles field at the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe on 4 February, the third stop of the 2017 IAAF World Indoor Tour.

Kallur, a two-time European indoor 60m hurdles champion, will return to the venue where she set the world record in the event with a 7.68 run at the meeting's 2008 edition. The 35-year-old, who also claimed bronze in the event at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships, has struggled with injury since 2008, but made a notable comeback last season outdoors when she competed in the 100m hurdles for the first time since 2010.

Pearson, the 2012 Olympic 100m hurdles champion, also won the world indoor 60m hurdles title that year clocking 7.73 to equal the fourth fastest performance of all-time. In 2014, she took world indoor silver in Sopot. Pearson, 30, is also on the rebound from an injury that sidelined her from an attempt to defend her Olympic title in Rio last summer.

The pair will take on European 100m hurdles champion Cindy Roleder of Germany, who was previously announced. The women's 60m hurdles isn’t a scoring event in this year’s World Indoor Tour, but meeting director Alain Blondel added the event to give Roleder a world class line-up on home turf.

"The track in Karlsruhe is very fast, world-class - and personal best performances should be possible and are also my goal," Roleder said.

The men’s 60m hurdles, 1500m, long jump and high jump, plus the women’s 60m, 800m, 3000m, pole vault and shot put will be the World Indoor Tour scoring events in Karlsruhe.
