USA’s Jennifer Suhr, the reigning women’s Olympic Pole Vault champion will compete at DN Galan - IAAF Diamond League meeting - in Stockholm’s famous Olympic Stadium on 22 August 2013.  Suhr who was also the silver medallist at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, is looking forward with great enthusiasm to the DN Galan.

“My goals for the outdoor season are to break the World record and become World champion (Moscow, 10 – 18 August).  It will be fun to compete in Stockholm´s Olympic Stadium where a World record number of World records have been broken.”

The women’s Pole Vault has for many years been a highly popular spectator events in Athletics.  One of the competitors who has really contributed to that popularity is Suhr and during this year’s indoor season she gave the discipline a further promotional boost when setting the current World indoor record of 5.02 metres.

While Suhr was the world’s leading senior pole vaulter last year, it was a Swede Angelica Bengtsson who dominated the global scene for juniors. Bengtsson, who won gold at last year’s World Junior Championships in Barcelona, will also compete at DN Galan.
