Organisers have announced that US pole vault star Katie Nageotte is to return to the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais – a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting – in Lievin on 17 February.
Nageotte won in Lievin in 2019, clearing 4.62m for victory, and since then has gone on to become the Olympic champion, getting gold in Tokyo last year thanks to a 4.90m clearance.
She also made the finals of both the 2019 World Championships in Doha and the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and her PB of 4.95m, set when winning the US title in Eugene last year, puts her fourth on the world all-time list.
Nageotte opened her season with a win in Nevada and then finished third at the Millrose Games at the end of last month.
In Lievin she will go up against world champion Anzhelika Sidorova, who secured Olympic silver in Tokyo and a medal of the same colour at the 2018 World Indoor Championships. With a PB of 5.01m, Sidorova sits second on the world all-time list.
Also among those returning to Lievin is Gudaf Tsegay, who broke the world indoor 1500m record last year and this time races the mile.
Other athletes announced for the meeting include world indoor 60m hurdles record-holder Grant Holloway, Olympic 10,000m champion Selemon Barega, Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs and Olympic 1500m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
