Obiri leads Kenyan team for Sopot – IAAF World Indoor Championships

Hellen Obiri of Kenya celebrates as she wins gold in the women’s 3000m in Istanbul

Eight athletes will represent Kenya at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot on 7-9 March.

Hellen Obiri will be Kenya’s sole reigning world indoor champion in the Polish city and she will be aiming to retain the 3000m title she won two years ago in Istanbul.

Also on the team is world indoor silver medallist Augustine Choge, who goes in the 3000m, and 2011 world silver medallist Silas Kiplagat, who contests his specialist event of 1500m.
