Monte-Carlo - Closing off the year of IAAF Centenary celebrations in spectacular style, the IAAF Centenary Gala will be organised on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November in Barcelona, Spain.
Not only will it commemorate 100 Years of Athletics Excellence but it will also look back to this wonderful year and re-live the fantastic emotions of the Athletics events of the London Olympic Games.
All the individual Olympic champions from the London Games have received an invitation to attend the IAAF Centenary Celebrations in Barcelona. In addition to today’s stars of our sport an endless list of Legendary Athletes have also confirmed their attendance.
A Centenary Banquet will be hosted in the Drassanes Museum on Friday 23 November and the following evening a unique Centenary Gala Show will be staged in the magnificent Museum of Catalonian Arts (MNAC) which will pay tribute to the history of our sport. The inaugural 24 members of the IAAF Hall of Fame will be inducted during the show, while 2012 World Athletes of the Year trophies will be presented in a separate ceremony earlier in the day.

Une constellation de stars est attendue au Gala du Centenaire de l'IAAF
Monte-Carlo – L'année des célébrations du Centenaire de l'IAAF va se clôturer en grande pompe, avec l'organisation du Gala du Centenaire de l'IAAF, les vendredi 23 et samedi 24 novembre dans la ville espagnole de Barcelone.
Ce Gala va être l'occasion, en plus de commémorer 100 ans d'excellence en athlétisme, de célébrer cette magnifique année 2012 et revivre les émotions fantastiques qu'ont suscité les Jeux olympiques de Londres.
Chacun des champions et championnes olympiques individuels de Londres 2012 a reçu une invitation à participer aux célébrations du Centenaire de l'IAAF à Barcelone. En plus des stars d'aujourd'hui de notre sport, pléthore de sportifs qui ont façonné la légende de l'athlétisme ont également confirmé leur présence à cette occasion.
Un banquet du Centenaire aura lieu dans le cadre du Musée Drassanes le vendredi 23 novembre, tandis que la soirée suivante verra un show du Gala du Centenaire mis en scène dans le magnifique Musée des Arts Catalans (MNAC). Ce show unique rendra hommage à l'histoire de notre sport.
Les premiers membres du Temple de la renommée de l'IAAF seront intronisés au cours de ce spectacle, tandis que les Trophées pour les Athlètes de l'Année, eux, seront remis aux récipiendaires lors d'une cérémonie spéciale, organisée plus tôt dans la journée de samedi.
