The 59th edition of Campaccio, the first IAAF Cross Country Permit meeting of 2016, will feature an impressive men’s field including 2014 Campaccio winner Albert Rop, Olympic 5000m bronze medallist Thomas Longosiwa, 2011 world cross-country champion Imane Merga and his Ethiopian compatriot Yasin Haji on Wednesday (6).

The 59th Campaccio-International Cross Country will see Bahrain’s 2014 winner Albert Rop return to try to regain his title on 6 January, organisers announced on Monday (21).

Double Olympic, world and European 5000m and 10,000m champion Mo Farah will drop down in distance and contest the 3000m at the Doha 2015 meeting, the opening competition of this year’s IAAF Diamond League on Friday 15 May, organisers announced on Tuesday (31).

The 43rd edition of the famous Corrida Pedestre International de Houilles, the last major road race in France for 2014 and an IAAF Silver Label Road Race, will see Kenya’s Cornelius Kangogo defend the title he won in 2013 on Sunday (28).

One of the best 5000m fields in the world this year will be in the at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, USA, on 1 June and the IAAF Diamond League race will feature top Americans Bernard Lagat and Galen Rupp.

Italian distance running stars Andrea Lalli and Daniele Meucci will be in the spotlight at the famous Campaccio Cross Country race, a IAAF Cross Country Permit meeting, this Sunday (6).

The 56th edition of the Campaccio international cross country meeting, held in the Italian town of San Giorgio su Legnano, will feature a Europe versus Africa battle between local hero and 2012 SPAR European Cross country Championships gold medallist Andrea Lalli and Kenya’s London 2012 Olympic Games 5000m bronze medallist Thomas Longosiwa on 6 January.

World cross-country champion Imane Merga will take on Olympic 5000m bronze medallist Thomas Longosiwa on New Year’s Eve at the BOclassic race in Bolzano, Italy.
