Germany’s Arne Gabius hopes to come home in front of around 15,000 runners in the Frankfurt Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label race, and get a rare win on Sunday (25) for a European male marathoner at a top level race over the classic distance.

Mo Farah fulfilled his role as pre-race favourite for the 25th anniversary edition of the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon when he won at the IAAF Gold Label Road Race in a European record of 59:32 on Sunday (22).

The 43rd edition of the famous Corrida Pedestre International de Houilles, the last major road race in France for 2014 and an IAAF Silver Label Road Race, will see Kenya’s Cornelius Kangogo defend the title he won in 2013 on Sunday (28).

Two days before turning 20, teenager Cornelius Kangogo gave himself an early birthday present by landing a surprise win at the Corrida Pedestre Internationale de Houilles, an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race held over 10km on Sunday (29).

The Corrida Pedestre Internationale de Houilles has almost become an annual fixture on Micah Kogo’s racing calendar. Since his first appearance at the IAAF Bronze Label Road Race in 2006, the Kenyan has competed there every year, apart from 2009.

Lelisa Desisa won his first Boston Marathon and Rita Jeptoo her second in 2:26:25, both after surviving tactical races with several lead changes on a sunny Monday morning (15) at the 117th edition of the Boston Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race.
