Australia’s Patrick Tiernan and Sweden’s Meraf Bahta smashed their personal bests to clock world-leading performances over 10,000m at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, USA on Friday night (5).

Gold medallists and world record holders will be lined up for what could be a stunning women’s 5000m at the 2015 IAAF Diamond League meeting in Eugene, after the 41st Prefontaine Classic meeting organisers announced an outstanding field on Wednesday (8).

Some of the world’s top athletes will take on a handful of Sweden’s medal winners from recent major championships on 19 February at the XL-Galan, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting.

World-leading performances by Olympic champions Sandra Perkovic and Krisztian Pars provided the highlights of the fifth day of action at the European Championships in Zurich on Saturday (16).
