Athletics South Africa will take on a Russian team in an international match in Pretoria on 7 February. Participants in the competition, which is intended to constitute an important part of South Africa's preparations for the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in September, will include the Athens '97 world champion javelin thrower Marius Corbett, Olympic 800m silver medallist Hezekiel Sepeng and 400m World Championship silver medallist Llewellyn Herbert in a 36 member team. Details of the Russian team have not as yet been announced.
