Sarah Chepchirchir of Kenya broke the course record at the Rock 'n' Roll Lisbon Marathon EDP to highlight a busy day of IAAF Gold Label Road Race action in the Portuguese capital on Sunday (2).

Cynthia Limo moved up to third on the world all-time list for the half marathon when she won the RAK Half Marathon in 1:06:04 in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on Friday (12).

With 22 years between the youngest and oldest competitors, the senior women’s race at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Guiyang 2015 will be a battle between youth and experience.

Four of Ethiopia’s medallists from the last edition of the championships will compete at this month’s IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Guiyang 2015 on 28 March.

Defence Club athletes Tsebelu Zewde and Genet Yalew churned out impressive victories in Addis Ababa on Sunday (23) at the Ethiopian Half Marathon Championships, the official trials for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen next month.

The fifth African Mountain Running Championship was held in conjunction again, as it has been since its inaugural year in 2009, with the famous Obudu International Mountain Race in Nigeria and saw race wins for Kenya’s Philemon Rono and Ethiopia’s Genet Yalew on Saturday (23).
