A showdown between Sharon Cherop and Aberu Kebede in the women’s race is likely to be one of the highlights of the BMW Frankfurt Marathon, which celebrates its 33rd edition on 26 October.

Moses Mosop intends to show that he still belongs to the world’s best marathon runners when he competes in the 20th anniversary edition of the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race on Sunday (11).

Kenya’s world and Olympic 10,000m finalist Bedan Karoki made a great debut over the half marathon distance, winning the EDP Half Marathon of Lisbon in 59:58 on Sunday (16).

But Nguse Amlosom was a surprising winner of the men’s race at the 29th edition of the IAAF Silver Label Road Race held over 10 miles between the city squares of Amsterdam and Zaandam on Sunday (22).

Kenya’s Franklin Chepkwony cruised to a comfortable victory in the men’s race at the 84th Seoul International Marathon on Sunday (17), while his compatriot Flomena Chepchirchir won the women’s competition to complete the first ever Kenyan double at the only IAAF Gold Label Road Race in Korea.

Kenya’s Eliud Kiptanui and Ethiopia’s Korene Jelila will start as the marginal favourites for the men’s and women’s races at the Seoul International Marathon on Sunday (17), but the competition still remains wide open for the honours at the only IAAF Gold Label Road Race in Korea.
