The IAAF World Challenge meeting in Dakar will see Caster Semenya’s first international race of 2015 when she contests the 800m on Saturday (23).

The senior women’s race looks all set to be a battle between East African runners but the junior race at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Guiyang 2015 could prove to be a lot more open.

The women’s 3000m steeplechase title was captured by Bahrain’s Ruth Jebet in 9:36.74.

World junior 3000m steeplechase champion Daisy Jepkemei will defend her title in the US city of Eugene next month as part of the largest ever Kenyan contingent going to the IAAF World Junior Championships, following the conclusion of the two-day Trials in Nairobi on Wednesday (25).

Kenya had to wait until the fifth and final day of the competition here in Donetsk for its first double at the IAAF World Youth Championships as Rosefline Chepngetich and Daisy Jepkemei reigned supreme in the girls’ 2000m Steeplechase and took the gold and silver medals.

Africa’s top athletes between the ages of 15 and 17 from more than 30 countries went through their paces at the first African Youth Championships in the Nigerian city of Warri, which ended on Sunday (31).
