<p style="text-align: center;">今大会では世界新記録が1件樹立され、大会記録が7件更新または同記録となりました。さらに、数々の歴史的快挙も達成されました。サモア、セントルシア、ウルグアイが初の世界陸上メダルを獲得、タンザニアは初の金メダルを獲得しました。</p>

東京2025世界陸上2025年9月13 - 21日開催 
この世界最大級のスポーツイベントに、200か国・地域から2000人以上の選手が参加します。
世界陸上選手権大会第1回大会は、フィンランドのヘルシンキで開催されました。
日本での開催は今回が3回目。東京での開催は2回目で、前回の1991年以来実に34年ぶりの開催となります。
