If you're keen to run in one of Budapest's regenerated neighbourhoods, Kopaszi Dam is the perfect choice. The area around Lágymányosi Bay in South Buda has long been a neglected area. Following spectacular developments, a brand new quarter has been built in the area, which is still being beautified today.

The Kopaszi Dam by the Danube is now one of the most popular recreational areas, where families with young children, groups of friends, nature lovers, picnic enthusiasts and sports fans alike can enjoy the park. Playhouses, terraces, cafés, restaurants and, of course, a running track await visitors tot he public park on the dam.

The Kopaszi Dam, south of the Rákóczi Bridge, is a great place to run all year round, the quiet waterfront area is clean, modern and sometimes even has ducks for company. Moreover, from the park you can admire the brand new, state-of-the-art National Athletics Centre, the venue of the World Athletics Championships Budapest 2023.

The recreational part of the trail is two kilometres long, and if you include the walking trail, you can enjoy three and a half kilometres of your favourite form of exercise.
