Rimi Kids' Day

 

World Athletics Road Running Championships program will be opened by Kids' Day, thanks to the support of Rimi, has become the Rimi Kids' Day. On September 30th, the Rimi Kids' Day at the Freedom Monument will allow even the smallest participants and families to experience the joy of movement.

 

 

Rimi Kids’ Day will be held at the Freedom Monument at 10:00 AM with short distances. For the youngest ones (0-3 years old), there will be an obstacle course for Babies, while slightly older children (3-12 years old) will have the opportunity to run in distances of 200 m and 400 m.

 

Participation in Rimi Kids’ Day events, such as the 200 m, 400 m races, and the Babies course track, is free of charge. However, there is a 3 EUR participation fee for the 50m sprint distance. All participants in the Rimi Kids’ Day races will receive official World Running Championship medals at the finish line!

Receiving start numbers

 

For all the short distances that will take place without time control, parents and family members of registered participants can collect the start numbers starting from September 15th by presenting the confirmation letter received at the time of registration (preferably electronically to save the environment). They can collect the start numbers at the chosen location: either at one of the three Rimi stores - TC "Alfa," t/c "Spice," or Rimi store on Pulkveža Brieža Street 33a.

 

Alternatively, they can collect them at the World Running Championship EXPO on September 29th (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM) and September 30th (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) at Hanzas Perons.

 

As for the start numbers for the 50m sprint distance, they will be equipped with a special timing chip. Therefore, they can only be collected at the World Running Championship Expo on September 29th (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM) and September 30th (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM).

EXPO is a place where you can collect your start number, purchase any last-minute necessities, and enjoy a pleasant time with the running community.

Can start numbers be collected at Rimi stores on the day of the event?

We cannot guarantee that there will be available numbers at the chosen Rimi store on the event day, so it is safer to come to EXPO.

If I want to change the location for receiving the start number, what should I do?

You can change the location for receiving the start number by writing an email to riga23@necom.lv, providing your name, surname, the email address used for registration, and the necessary changes.

What if my child changes their mind on the event day and wants to run the 400m distance instead of 200m (or vice versa)?

No problem, they can run the distance they prefer, but please note that they will receive only one medal.

Can parents run together with their children?

Parents can certainly accompany the little runners on the track. 

If a child feels unwell on the event day, can they receive a medal after the event?

Unfortunately, if they are unable to participate, they won't be able to receive a medal.
