Important points to consider when applying for the WCH Tokyo 25 volunteer program

 

In addition to the application guidelines, please also note the following information when applying for and participating in the WCH Tokyo 25 volunteer program.

 

 

01. Personal information: volunteer applicants and participants will be treated in accordance with the personal information protection policy of WCH Tokyo 25 Local Organising Committtee (hereinafter referred to as “LOC”).

 

02. Only those who comply with the laws and regulations of Japan are eligible to apply and participate as a volunteer.

 

03. Gangsters or people associated with criminal groups cannot apply or participate in the Championships.

 

04. Applications may be deemed invalid if any inaccuracies are found on the application form.

 

05. The following acts are strictly prohibited and may result in candidates being withdrawn from consideration:

 

(1) Any act that violates laws and regulations or offends public order and morals, or any other act that is deemed unbecoming of a volunteer (commercial activities, solicitation, etc.)

 

(2) Criminal acts or acts that encourage or are related to criminal acts, or acts that have the potential to do so

 

(3) Sexual, violent, or discriminatory language or behavior deemed inappropriate, or any other behavior that causes mental or physical distress to others

 

(4) Actions that interfere with the smooth operation of the WCH Tokyo 25 venues, road competition venues, training venues, stations, airports, etc., unnecessary contact with athletes or related persons, or actions that are deemed to be a nuisance to visitors, users, etc.

 

(5) Resale of goods provided or lent during activities

 

(6) Disseminating to the public (including posting on social media, etc.) any non-public information obtained through activities, such as information on areas that are off-limits to non-authorised personnel.

 

(7) Disseminating personal information (telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.) obtained through activities without the consent of the parties concerned.

 

 

06. The LOC reserves the right to refuse applications or activities if it deems them or the participants inappropriate.

 

07. Failure to participate in mandatory training sessions may cause for candidates application to be withdrawn.

 

08. Please refrain from participating in online training sessions in public spaces to protect confidentiality and the privacy of participants. Please make sure to use the latest version of online tools. The LOC cannot be held responsible for any problems that may occur, such as malfunctions in participants' devices or leakage of personal information.

 

09. To participate in online training sessions, please prepare the necessary equipment in advance such as mobile devices, PCs, internet connection, cameras, microphones, etc.  All costs incurred in doing so (communication costs etc.) are to be borne by the participant.

 

10. Volunteers are requested to wear the uniform provided during their volunteers activities. If you are found to be wearing inappropriate clothing on your volunteer activity days, you need to follow the LOC’s instructions.

 

11. Volunteers shall manage valuables and personal belongings on their own during volunteer activities. The organizing committee shall not be responsible for any loss, theft, or other incident of personal valuables and belongings.

 

12. If a volunteer cancels participation in the program after starting volunteer activities due to failure to comply with these precautions or for any other reason, the volunteer must return all provided and loaned items. In such a case, shipping costs for the items must be borne by the individual.

 

13. The LOC shall not be liable to compensate for any damages incurred by the volunteer or any damage caused by the volunteer to a third party in connection with the activities beyond the scope of the volunteer insurance, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the organizing committee. The LOC shall not be liable for any problems that may arise between volunteers.

 

14. If the Japan national government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, or other authorities issue policies or guidelines regarding infectious disease countermeasures, the LOC will take measures in accordance with such policies or guidelines.

 

15. Please be advised that the organizing committee may film the training and activities and use the photos and videos taken on its website, television, materials, press releases, etc., and may publish them on television, newspapers, magazines, the internet, posters, pamphlets, etc.

 

16. The LOC reserves the right to change these precautions at any time, and the revised precautions shall become effective upon notification to the participants of such changes. If a volunteer continues to participate in the training and activities after notification of any changes to these rules and regulations, the volunteer shall be deemed to have agreed to the amendments.

 

17. Volunteers may be asked to agree to certain necessary matters separately stipulated by the LOC in order to participate in volunteer activities.
