Great Britain and NI announce a 24member team for Bydgoszcz

13 July 1999 - Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be sending a 24-strong team to the inaugural IAAF World Youth Championships to be held 16-18 July in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Over 70 countries are expected to compete. Included among the ‘ones to watch’ is 16 year old Mark Lewis Francis – an exciting addition to Britain’s growing group of exceptionally talented sprinters – and 15 year old Aileen Wilson, the youngest member of the team and the youngest ever champion in any event when she won the AAA Under 20 title last year aged just 14!
