Both Yansheng Yang from China and Scott Roth of USA cleared a new Championships record height of 5.25 metres to take the gold and silver medals in the boys’ Pole Vault.
Both athletes failed at 5.30, but Yang won the gold thanks to his completely clear series up to that final height.
Albert Velez of Spain cleared 5.20 metres for the final place on the podium.
