The Volunteer will be the first and main point of contact for guests. They will welcome participants at the airport, hotels and the event and will provide them with information about the race and the city. Volunteers will also support staff and teams with their travel requirements from hotel to venue.
Volunteer Team assistants are the link between the Volunteer Management and the Volunteers. They will support the Volunteer Management Team in organizational matters which include - Coordination of the Volunteer Center and will help answer the Volunteer questions. Volunteers will fill gaps in case other volunteers are missing or cannot cope with their duties.
Accreditation Volunteers will welcome the selected visitors, produce personalised access cards and provide accreditations to them. In addition to it, the volunteers are also responsible for checking data and issuing new accreditations on short notice.
The Volunteers will support the operation of the media areas, by assisting with the set-up of the media facilities (furniture, display of key information), welcoming the press and media representatives, supporting them in any organisational or technical issues. As well they will support the photographer operations, both in the Media Center or photographer working areas.
Volunteers will help with the preparation of the participants' BIB number and bag packing.
The main task of the EXPO volunteer is to issue each participant with his BIB number and goody bag. During the EXPO, participants not only receive their start number with a time control chip attached to it and a goody bag, but also will be available to get info about the event.
Race weekend will be opened by Kid's Day at the Freedom Monument. On this day, volunteers will coordinate the flow of children on the tracks, provide the necessary information to the visitors of the event, and will please the little participants with medals.
In the morning the participants will be available to leave their clothes, jackets and other things unnecessary during the run in the bag drop. Volunteer work in bag drop includes receiving and issuing belongings to the participants of the event.
Volunteers will work with the Track Managers and will help to set up the track before the start. In addition to this, the track needs volunteers, who monitor the flow of runners, indicate the correct route, and also encourage the runners. The most responsible task of track assistants is to be observant, because the track assistants are the "eyes and ears" for the safety of runners on the track while at street intersections.
The Volunteer duties of the start zone includes helping participants to find the right starting corridors and monitoring the starting area between all starts so that fans and spectators cannot enter the area.
The Volunteer duties of the finish zone includes preparing the finish area for welcoming the participants and giving out the medals and goody bags.
