You can now apply for a place in the Elite B or C field at the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26.

Please note, that Elite A in this years edition are the runners that have been selected by their National Federation to represent their country at the World Road Running Championships. Elite B are international runners, see qualification times below, while Elite C is national runners from Denmark.

Also note that as an Elite B or C participant, you are responsible for paying for your own race entry.

Elite B and C will have a separate start, after Elite A has been sent off.

Deadline for applying is 15th February.

Please note that meeting the time standard does not guarantee entry. To ensure a fair and competitive elite field, all applications will be reviewed individually. Even if you meet the published time standards, your place is not automatically guaranteed. This is because we expect more qualified athletes than the number of available spots in the elite field.

Time requirements:

Half Marathon
Elite B
Men: 66 minutes
Women: 76 minutes

Elite C (Danish only, sub elite)
Men: 72 minutes
Women: 84 minutes

5 kilometers

Women 17.00 minutes

Elite C (Danish only, sub elite)
Men: 15.30 minutes
Women: 18.30 minutes

One Mile
Elite B
Men 4.20 minutes
Women 5.00 minutes

Elite C (Danish only, sub elite)
Men 4.40 minutes
Women 5.20 minutes

Once you have applied
Once you have submitted your application all applications will be carefully evaluated after the deadline 15th February.

You will receive a response in the last week of February indicating whether you have been selected.

Please be aware that when you receive a reply regarding your application, the email will be sent from the registration system called Njuko. This is the system used for the World Championships.

We look forward to reviewing your application — and to welcoming a powerful and inspiring elite field to Copenhagen in 2026.
