US 100m champion Mike Rodgers will face former world 100m champion Kim Collins over 60m in Moscow on 1 February at the Russian Winter, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting.

Rodgers has never competed at this meeting before, but his PB of 6.48, set at altitude when winning the 2011 US indoor title, makes him the fastest in the field, albeit by a slight margin.

He will be up against the past two winners of the 60m at the Russian Winter. Collins, who has a PB of 6.49, won in Moscow in 2013. He was beaten last year by Cuba’s Yunier Perez, who returns to defend his title after breaking the meeting record with his PB of 6.49.

Also in the field is two-time world 100m finalist Daniel Bailey of Antigua and Barbuda. The 28-year-old recently clocked 6.60, his fastest time since taking the bronze medal at the 2010 World Indoor Championships.

Britain’s European 100m bronze medallist Harry Aikines-Aryeetey completes the field.

Other athletes already announced for the Russian Winter include Olympic 800m silver medallist Nijel Amos, Diamond Race 1500m winner Silas Kiplagat, world indoor high jump champion Maria Kuchina, France’s Diamond Race 110m hurdles winner Pascal Martinot-Lagarde and world indoor 400m champion Pavel Maslak.
