World 200m champion and European record-holder Dafne Schippers is the latest stellar name to be added to the field for the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe on Saturday 6 February, organisers of the opening competition of the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Tour announced on Thursday (17).

Schippers will race over 60m, the indoor discipline at which she won a continental title earlier this year, setting a world-leading time and personal best of 7.05 at the European Indoor Championships in Prague

She will be returning to Karlsruhe in seven weeks’ time with some unfinished business, having been disqualified in the 60m final in the German city when she raced there in February.

Pole vault stars Raphael Holzdeppe and Renaud Lavillenie have already been announced as committed to competing in Karlsruhe, which should provide a superb curtain-raiser to the innovative IAAF World Indoor Tour.
