The seminar for starters at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Belgrade 22 was held on 5 and 6 November in the city's Athletic Hall. The lecturer was Alan Bell, an international starter who is a member of the World Panel. He has been a starter at numerous European and World Athletics Championships.

Bell is an experienced lecturer with rich experience, which includes firing the starter pistol for the 100m and 200m races in which Usain Bolt broke the world records. He was a lecturer to the starters in Doha for the World Athletics Championships in 2019, when he was preparing the team in a similar way.

He held a presentation on the first day of the seminar, and on the second day he held practical and demonstration elements, when the starters simulated start procedures in different scenarios.

Several athletes helped with the organisation of the practical element, when they were simulating starts. Aleksa and Bosko Kijanovic, our fastest sprinters, were among them.

The goal of the seminar was for the referees to gain skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully carry out the rules and start procedures at the highest level competitions.

This is just the first in the series of seminars for officials at the competition. Along with the seminars already held with referees and the ones planned for each event, the seminar that will be held by the end of the year is the most significant. That is when the World Athletics Indoor Championships Belgrade22 technical delegates, Luca Verascina and Niels Van der Aar, will hold the final lecture and preparation of the referees.
