France will be represented by nine athletes at the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016 from 17-20 March.

World record-holder Renaud Lavillenie will be looking to regain the world indoor pole vault title he won in 2012. He was unable to defend his title in 2014 after injuring his foot when attempting to vault 6.21m, minutes after breaking the world record.

Of the three French athletes who earned medals in Sopot two years ago, sprint hurdler Pascal Martinot-Lagarde is the only one who will be competing in Portland. He will be joined in the 60m hurdles by current world leader Dmitri Bascou.

European triple jump champion Benjamin Compaore and European long jump bronze medallist Kafetien Gomis also feature on the team.
