World 200m champion Dafne Schippers and European 1500m champion Sifan Hassan are among the seven athletes who will represent the Netherlands at the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016 on 17-20 March.

Schippers just missed out on the 60m finals at her past two World Indoor Championships appearances. But, having since dropped the combined events in favour of sprinting, she heads to Portland as the world leader after clocking 7.00 in Berlin.

Since finishing fifth in the 3000m at the 2014 World Indoor Championships, Hassan won the European 1500m title later that summer and then won the indoor continental crown at the start of the 2015. She ended that year with a 1500m bronze medal at the IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015.

The Dutch team also includes 400m sprinter Lisanne de Witte, who earned her place in Portland by topping the IAAF World Indoor Tour standings in her event.
