$245,000 Prize Money + $50,000 World record bonus at stake in Udine

MonteCarloA total prize purse of US$245,000 will be paid by the IAAF at this Sunday's 2nd IAAF World Road Running Championships, Udine, Italy (14 October) which is being contested over the Half Marathon distance.

World Record Bonus

Any athlete surpassing a senior World record at 2nd IAAF World Road Running Championships, Udine, Italy will be awarded US$50,000.

The World record bonus will be awarded for the Half Marathon and for any of the other official World record distances if they are surpassed en route - 10km, 15km, 20km - during the men’s and women’s Half Marathon races.

Only one $50,000 payment will be awarded per athlete in the eventuality of the same runner setting more than one record in the same race. 

However, if different athletes should set World records at any of the official distances mentioned above, then each of these athletes will receive one payment of $50,000 each.

NOTE

The payment of the bonus is dependent upon official ratification of the relevant World record.

The payment of all individual and team prize money is dependant upon athletes undergoing and clearing the usual anti-doping procedures.
