Closing Ceremony and Handover

As the championships draw to a close, the Closing Ceremony and the official Flag Handover Ceremony will take place as follows.

Closing Ceremony Overview

• Date & Time: Sunday, 21 September 2025, 21:30 – 21:40
• Venue: Japan National Stadium
• Programme: The championships will conclude with a highlight movie presentation of the most memorable moments of WCH Tokyo 25.

Flag Handover Ceremony

During the Flag Handover Ceremony, the World Athletics flag will be formally passed from Tokyo to the next host city, Beijing. The ceremony will feature athletes as well as representatives of the volunteers who played a vital role in delivering the championships.
