Traffic restrictions around the Japan National Stadium during the WCH Tokyo 25

 

In conjunction with the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25, traffic restrictions will be in place around the Japan National Stadium for the duration of the championships. Significant congestion is expected in the surrounding areas, and we kindly ask all spectators and visitors to use public transport and refrain from travelling by car.

 

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe and smooth championships for all.

 

　 Traffic Restrictions around the Exterior of the Japan National Stadium due to the Medal Ceremony

 

Due to the medal ceremony on the evening of Sunday, 21 September, pedestrian traffic restrictions will be in place around the Japan National Stadium during the championships.

Heavy congestion is expected near the venue, so please follow the traffic regulations when coming to the stadium.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Sunday, 21 September 20:30–23:30(subject to change depending on spectator exit)

 

Location: Japan National Stadium perimeter
(1) Stadium Street ⇔ Stadium perimeter
(2) East side ⇔ South/West sides

 

　 Changes to traffic regulations around the stadium are as follows:

From Friday 12 September at approximately 20:00 to Sunday 21 September at approximately 24:00

 

Affected areas:

・Yoyogi Park Street

・Harajuku Station (in front)

・Gaien Nishi Street

Please note that time-restricted parking zones will be subject to a full parking ban for the duration of this period.

From Friday 12 September at approximately 07:00 to Sunday 21 September at approximately 24:00

 

Affected area:

・Road in front of the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery

Please note that pedestrian-only roads in this area will be closed to vehicle traffic. Pedestrians should use the south side walkway.
