Pre-Sale for World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 Tickets opens on 5 August

Exclusive priority access to tickets for fans who have registered for official pre-sale

 

Pre-sale for priority access tickets to the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 (WCH Tokyo 25) opens on Monday 5 August.

 

The Championships are set to take place from over nine days of thrilling athletics action from 13 - 21 September 2025 and will feature the world’s best athletes.

 

The official pre-sale will start on Monday, 5 August at 20:25 (JST) for those who are registered to receive priority access to tickets.

 

Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. This is the earliest opportunity to purchase tickets to the Championships and the Local Organising Comittee is expecting high demand from both domestic and international fans.

 

A total of 700,000 tickets will be going on sale at accessible prices:

• 70% of tickets are priced at less than 10,000 JPY (65 USD).
• Tickets prices at 2,025 JPY (13 USD) tickets at every session for families and groups, including children, elderly or those with a disability.

WCH Tokyo 25 will be one of the biggest sporting events in the world in 2025. It will bring together almost 2000 athletes from more than 200 countries who will compete in 14 sessions across 9 action-packed days .

 

 

　 Ticket sales schedule

 

The official pre-sale will start on Monday, 5 August at 20:25 (JST) for those who are registered to receive priority access to tickets.

The another priority pre-sale will start on Thursday, 15 August for the members of World Athletics’ Inside Track fanbase.

From the 5th to the 14th of August, those who registered to receive priority access to tickets will be the first to have access to the ticket sales.

 

• Those who register to receive priority access to tickets or/and to become a member of the World Athletics Family will be sent the closed link to purchase tickets ahead of the general ticket sale.
• The wheelchair accessible ticket and Tokyo 25 special campaign ticket are only available on the official ticket sales website.
• Any additional sales channels or changes to the pre-sale period will be announced in the future.

 

 

　 Ticket price details

 

Ticket price details are shown as follows. (Unit: JPY per ticket)

 

• A separate handling fee (550 JPY per ticket, incl. tax) such as system fees, ticketing fees, etc. will apply.
• Price for one accompanying person is complimentary for a wheelchair seat (regular price for the person in the wheelchair will apply).
• In addition to the above, Tokyo 25 special campaign tickets (2,025 JPY) will be sold as category C for each session.
• The maximum number of tickets per purchase, regardless of seat type, is 8 per session.

 

 

　 Type of ticket

 

General ticket

• Five seat categories are available: Premium 1, Premium 2, Category A, Category B and Category C.
• 70% of tickets are priced less than 10,000 JPY.

 

Wheelchair accessible ticket

• This ticket allows a wheelchair user and one accompanying person to attend the events together.
• The tickets are prepared for all sessions and all 5 seat categories.
• Price for one accompanying person is complimentary for a wheelchair seat (regular price for the person in the wheelchair).

 

Tokyo 25 special campaign ticket

• To make it easier for more people to attend the events, total 2,025 tickets at 2,025 JPY per ticket are sold for category C seats of all sessions.
• These tickets are applicable for families or groups include at least a child under 18, elderly of 65 or over or those with a disability, (At least two tickets shall be purchased by a purchaser.)
• The age of children and the elderly is as of the date of the event. (The age may be verified at the time of entry).

 

Group ticket

• Group tickets will be accepted if more than 9 tickets are purchased for the same session and seat category.
• Please check the official ticket sales website for the details.

• All tickets are reserved seats.
• Seat selection is not available during pre-sale, select only the seat category and their area of seats (1) to (17). Seat numbers will be notified to purchasers by email around February 2025.
• The seating area is subject to change depending on future venue set-up plans.

For pre-sale, only credit cards (single payment) are accepted. The two credit card brands accepted are Mastercard and Visa.

 

 

　 Step to purchase

 

WCH Tokyo 25 Ticket ID

 

You will need to register the WCH Tokyo 25 Ticket ID account. This ID is required to log in to the official ticket sales website. Once you have logged in, you will be able to purchase tickets, view your purchase history and issue tickets. This is different from registering for priority access to tickets in STEP 0. Even if you have already registered for priority access to tickets, you will still need to register the WCH Tokyo 25 Ticket ID in order to purchase your ticket.

 

 

　 Prevention of unjust ticket resale

 

Tickets cannot be purchased except through sales channels designated by the Local Organising Committee of World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 or WORLD ATHLETICS. To transfer tickets purchased directly from us to a third party, please use the official ticket resale service or the resale service of the official ticket sales provider.

 

Never purchase tickets from other than such official sales channels. No one with tickets purchased through unofficial channels can be admitted to the venue.

 

Tickets for this event fulfill the requirements for the Specified Show and Event Tickets, and unauthorised resale of such tickets will be subject to penalties.
