ParisThe IAAF and the CIFP (Comite International pour le Fair Play – the International Fair Play Committee) have teamed up to reward active and retired athletes with special Fair Play prize for their achievements on and off the track.
Recently, CIFP launched a special programme aimed at reaching the International Federations by initiating the awarding of such prizes at a few select World Championships (in addition to its regular annual prize awards). The objective of the programme is to communicate the importance of the fair play spirit around the globe more frequently.
IAAF and CIFP Presidents, Lamine Diack and Dr Jeno Kamuti, have the pleasure of inviting the media to submit their nominations for Fair Play awards based on the events of the Paris World Championships. In addition, the media is also invited to submit nominations for track & filed athletes who have now retired but have made a lasting name for themselves both as competitors as well as in their daily lives.
A Jury composed of representatives of the IAAF, CIFP and the Media will decide on the nominations which will be announced at the end of the World Championships.
