Germany's top combined events exponents on their way to Gotzis

In the wake of the announcement that world record-holder Ashton Eaton and two-time world champion Trey Hardee will duel at the famous Hypo-Meeting in the Austrian town of Gotzis, the organisers have announced that the cream of Germany’s combined events exponents will also be on display at the IAAF Combined Events Challenge meeting on 30-31 May.

Taking on the US pair in the decathlon will be world silver medallist Michael Schrader (personal best: 8670), Arthur Abele (8477), European under-23 champion Kai Kazmirek (8471), Rico Freimuth (8382) and Matthias Prey (8215).

In the heptathlon, Germany will be represented by Olympic silver medallist Lilli Schwarzkopf (personal best: 6649), World Championships fourth-place finisher Claudia Rath (6462), former world and European junior champion Carolin Schafer (6395), Kira Biesenbach (6185) and Cindy Roleder (5728).
